Bart Van der Haegen, Internet Manager of "Customer Loyalty Program Belgium" (CLPB), needed to extend the "Happy Days" site with shopping and transaction processing functionalities.
He knew he didn't have the resources to build a system that provided 24x7 reliability, integration with the backend servers and high performance to handle the large numbers of users. Moreover, it had to be online quickly, to coincide with the start of a new marketing campaign.
